He nodded.
Then left the bag where it was.
At the door, he turned.
“What are you teaching Monday?”
I told him.
“Call me afterward.”
He paused.
Then corrected himself.
“No.”
He looked at me.
“I’ll call you.”
That evening, I was packing Grandpa’s bag when my phone rang.
Dad.
I answered.
“So,” he said, “where exactly is the hand supposed to go?”
I sat beside the open bag and smiled.
Then I started explaining.
